Centreflunk keeps investigation details under wraps, Why?

Centreflunk's general manager Hank Jongen says he will not comment on individual cases for fear of identifying those involved.
They are Public People working in a Public Place, Therefore the Public have the right to know!

"Most of these offences relate to people simply going into the file of a friend or relative, or in some incidents snooping on neighbours," he said.
If this is all they were doing, why not name them?

"It has not resulted in fraudulent payment or any impact on our customers."
Centreflunk.com would highky disagree with this statement MR HANK JONGEN

Centreflunk staff only sacked for privacy breaches, why not Gaoled?

Hundreds of Centreflunk staff have been caught inappropriately looking up the records of friends, ex-lovers & anyone who criticizes them in the Media.
The privacy breaches were uncovered using specially designed spyware software.
As a result of a two-year investigation, Centreflunk has only uncovered 800 cases so far, of what it has described as inappropriate access by Centreflunk staff to customer records.
Centreflunk.com complained to Commonwealth Ombudsmans Office January 2005

Nineteen staff have been sacked so far, and over 100 staff had nowhere to run or hide when they were confronted with the allegations, so they resigned.
Five of the cases have also been referred by Centreflunk to the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
Centreflunk.com complained to Australian Federal Police January 2005

Centreflunk general manager Hank Jongen says breaches of customers' privacy will not be tolerated.
"It was done for a whole range of reasons - from just sticky-beaking, through to at the more serious end of records actually being changed," he said.
"What this shows is that we have zero tolerance for any people who have surfed the details of the family and friends or peeked at records of their neighbours in our system."
More than 300 Centreflunk staff who are facing salary deductions or fines, while 46 have only been reprimanded, should expect more than this but as they're only "reprimanded" by Centreflunk, we can expect these deductions or fines to me minor!
What would they do to us, the general public?

Staff 'warned' - Staff 'knew'
The public service union says it has been warning Centreflunk members for some time about the dangers of misusing private information on computer systems, & so have we here at Centreflunk.com.
A Community and Public Sector Union (CPS You Better Not!) spokesperson, says Centreflunk staff were made aware of the consequences of misusing information, but that didn't stop them, unfortunetly for us, they were caught & now we lose their membership.
"We believe that in Centreflunk the issues around privacy are well understood," said The CPS You Better Not.
"So if people have chosen to ignore those directions, then essentially the consequences of those types of action are those that have been reported today."
The National Welfare Rights Network says the news is disturbing for Centreflunk's customers.
It's obvious to all of us here at Centreflunk.com & the general public, that it is incredibly important for all Centreflunk staff to have very high standards of confidentiality, or we shall name them on the Centreflunk Wall of Shame!

Who The Hell Do You Think You Guy's Are At Centrelink ?
This Is Australia Not Nazi Europe,
why are you forcing Censorship upon Australian Citizens ?

Centrelink Forced an Internet Provider to "close down" Perth IndyMedia's web-site until all post, comments, images & links to my web-site www.centreflunk.com were removed from their site & off their server!

Jason Pickett
Centrelink Client
Centreflunk Administrator
Concerned Australian Citizen

After a story was posted on an activist website (Perth IndyMedia) concerning my battle with Centrelink, which by the way was copied & placed into my file by Centrelink, the owners of that site were hit with a Legal Threat from Centrelink to remove the post, images & links to my website centreflunk.com
http://perth.indymedia.org/index.php?action=newswire&parentview=25713#25741
Due to a technical stuff up, the Legal Threat was found by myself on google's search engine, which I now have up on my site
At first they edited the post, hoping this would satisfy Centrelink, but no, that wasn't enough for Centrelink.
Centrelink went behind their back & went to their host server, & after applying pressure, the site was taken off-line until all post's & images were cleared from their site.
To this date, nobody from Centrelink or any other Federal Department has contacted myself concerning www.centreflunk.com.
I recieved an email with an attachment from a Mr M Will, nothing on this email except his name & return email @
Upon opening the attachment, I found a "Legal Threat" to close down the site & never publish that site again!
Again, the attachment had no letterhead stating who & where this threat came from, only that he "represents" Centrelink, his name, phone # & that is it! http://www.centreflunk.com/legal/menu.html
Note to Centrelink & Centrelink Lawyers: I have not posted any Centrelink Staff contact details here, nor have I posted the Australian Swastika - They can all be found on my site www.centreflunk.com.
So keep your "Public Purse Sucking Hands" off Resist.com.au

Dear Sir/Madam
Offensive Comment posted by Jason Pickett 20 May 2005

We act for the Commonwealth of Australia represented by Centrelink. We have been instructed by our client to write to you about a comment posted by Mr Jason Pickett on your website and located at http://perth.indymedia.org/?action=newswire&parentview=10581.

We understand that your website aims to provide an open-publishing newswire and website to the public.

We appreciate that your website provides a forum for media makers who are members of disempowered or marginalised groups to report on news items important to them; to exercise freedom of speech; and to protect individuals' right of expression.

In order to maintain the integrity and quality of your website, we understand you have developed an Editorial Policy located at http://perth.indymedia.org/index.php?action=wiki&page=ed%20policy.

We have reviewed the Perth Indymedia Editorial Policy and wish to raise a few concerns with you arising out of the comment posted by Mr Pickett.

We note that under the heading Notifiable Removals in your Editorial Policy, posts violating the following point (among other points) are subject to notifiable removal:
* Posts which use language, imagery, or other forms of communication to promote racism, fascism, xenophobia, homophobia, sexism etc., or any other form of discrimination.

We understand Mr Pickett's comment is accompanied by two images that are fashioned in the shape of Nazi Swastikas.
The image of most concern is the Centrelink logo that has been reworked to resemble a Swastika, thereby making the suggestion that Centrelink is associated with or supports the practices and objectives of the Nazi regime.

Centrelink is a service delivery agency of the Commonwealth of Australia established under the Commonwealth Services Delivery Agency Act 1997.

Centrelink is not and never has been associated with the Nazi regime or fascist ideology; therefore, in accordance with your Editorial Policy we request that this image is removed from Mr Pickett's comment.

Further, Mr Pickett's comment also provides a link to a website located at www.centreflunk.com (Centreflunk).
Our client is concerned that by providing a link to the Centreflunk website, Mr Pickett's comment is contrary to two other points described under Notifiable Removals in your Editorial Policy, that is:

* Posts which publish identifying information without the individual's knowledge or consent.
Note: The Editorial collective may choose to delete posts which publish personal identifying information without the individual's knowledge or consent.

* Abuse of others in the form of personal attacks.

Indymedia is not a space for people to play out personal vendettas.
The Centreflunk website has published the names and contact details of a number of individuals employed by Centrelink, without the knowledge or consent of those individuals.
This identifying information is not generally available to the public. The website also contains examples of threats made by Mr Pickett against individuals employed by Centrelink.

These are personal attacks that have been made repeatedly by Mr Pickett against the individuals named by Mr Pickett on the Centreflunk website.

Therefore, we also request that the link to the Centreflunk website is removed from Mr Pickett's comment.

We understand from your Editorial Policy that you strive to make decisions in the most democratic, transparent and accountable manner.
Therefore, if you have any questions or comments or if we can assist you in any way in attending to our requests,
please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully
